Understanding Indiana BDDS Services: A Beginner’s Guide for Families

Navigating developmental disability services can feel overwhelming, especially for families who are new to the process. Indiana’s Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDDS) provides support and resources designed to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fulfilling and independent lives.

BDDS services are intended to support individuals in achieving personal goals, participating in their communities, and maintaining the highest possible level of independence. Depending on eligibility, individuals may have access to services such as Day Habilitation, Residential Habilitation and Supports, Participant Assistance Care (PAC), Respite Care, Structured Family Caregiving, and Transportation Services.
